BHARAT NIRMAN AWARD
Hope Foundation was honoured with The Bharat Nirman Award for its outstanding contributions in the social development of the underprivileged children in and around the city of Kolkata.

The Hope Foundation is a network of 14 registered NGO's working primarily with children living in very difficult circumstances on streets and slums. Our foundation has adopted a holistic perspective on the overall development of a child, irrespective of his or her socioeconomic status. So we strive to offer food, clothing, medical treatment, counseling, education and shelter for the children and families in Kolkata and Howrah. we have been operating since 1999, our Founder & Director of Hope Foundation Ireland Ms. Maureen Forrest, has dedicated 22 years of her life voluntarily in the social field. For the last 9 years she has given so much time and energy for the development of the children and families in Kolkata. The children are given the opportunity to regain their lost childhood through love & support by dedicated staff. We are ensuring the fundamental rights of the children as mentioned in the Indian Constitution. In the nine short years since then the work initiated by Ms. Maureen, and coordinated by Ms. Geeta Venkadakrishnan (Director of Hope Kolkata Foundation), Ms. Jenny Browne Overseas Director & Ms. Sarbani Das Roy (Executive Director) has founded the lives of 16,000 children and their families in this great city.
Our Mission: The Hope Foundation is committed to the development of the underprivileged and vulnerable children and persons living in difficult circumstances by acting as a facilitator through procurement of funds, staff capacity enhancement, technical support and social, economic and spiritual development where necessary.
Our Aims & Objectives: The aims and objectives of Hope Foundation are : to provide nutrition, shelter, education, healthcare, counseling and support for its focus group whilst also having due respect for the dignity and rights of the individual. To promote economic self sufficiency by providing skill training for women and to facilitate the establishment of cooperative societies. To provide appropriate responses in emergency situations. To monitor and evaluate projects to ensure that they are effectively achieving their objectives.
Hope founded projects in Kolkata: Hope Home, Counseling Unit, Creche, Preparatory Center, Mobile Clinic, Vocational Training, Micro-credit Program, Child Watch which includes night rounds, Open Shelter, Nabadisha and Rehabilitation programs for addicted children
