To provide medical treatment for children 0-16 years. this is done by providing a doctor, renting bed and nursing care if hospitalization is required and providing medicine and diagnostic tests.
Due to inadequate funding the hospitals cannot provide medicine and tests free of charge so those who cannot afford treatment do not get proper care. Hope is working with one of the local hospitals where some of the patients are being referred from the target group. The children from acute illness who come from financially deprived backgrounds, who otherwise could not afford treatment. Moreover, there is no other organization in the area providing this service.
Achievements
Since it was set up in November last year to February of this year, treatment has been provided to 20 children with illness ranging from typhoid fever, severe dehydration, premature birth and severe chest infections etc. have been treated out of which 2 children have unfortunately passed away and the other 18 have made a complete recovery.
The problems associated with poverty and illness are vast in this area. Therefore, people are aware of what is being provided and is been worked with of the government hospitals in the area - Benaras Hindu University Hospital. Plans are to make contact with local charities who will further take care of the vulnerable children.
