FUND RAISING
Acting as an NGO, the organization is faced with the requirement of funds at regular intervals. Hope acts
as a facilitator to its partner NGOs thus the responsibility of arranging for funds is also shared.
 Fund raising programs are organized from time to time. Together with these donations are a major source of procurement of funds.
 GIVING HOPE
Hope Foundation, Kolkata, held a Charity Ball on Sunday evening at The Park. Irish Tenor Paul Byron performed with soprano Shayne Hyrapiet at the fundraiser. Among those present were: -
Students from Alexander College and Mount Mercy from Dublin , who raised most funds for the foundation.

5th Foundation Day
The Foundation Day of Hope Kolkata Foundation, was celebrated with much enthusiasm and excitement on the 21st of March, 2004 at The Nazrul Manch.
 The Charity Ball - 22nd March, 2004 Irish ambassador to India Phillip McDonagh flew down from Delhi to attend the charity ball on the 5th Foundation Day of Hope Foundation Kolkata. And, in a gesture befitting the street children who're the beneficiaries of the foundation first set up in Ireland, he brought with him his little daughter.
Also befitting the occasion was the music by three Irish Tenors, Paul Byron, Tony Norton and Ciaran Nagle. Their debut album Atlantic Shores has reportedly captured the heart of Opera lovers. Once they took the floor, there was ceaseless tapping of foot. For they serenaded Spanish Lady, they played Danny Boy, they remembered Molly.
The Walk in September, 2003
The director of the Irish Hope Foundation, Maureen Forrest was in the city to take part in a 11 day walk aimed at raising funds for the street children of Kolkata. Nilanjana Bhowmick, caught up with her to clarify where Kolkata stands with regards to the problems street children face and also experiences of the walk that started from the foothills of the Himalayas.
Did the walk live up to your expectations?
Absolutely. the walk was spectacular. This was my first visit to Sikkim and I was spellbound with the virgin beauty of the region. The funds that we managed to raise were higher than what we had expected. While we had hoped to raise 50,000 euros, we actually raised around 120,000 euros.
Is there any cause for concern for the condition of street children in Kolkata?
I found both the numbers and the conditions of street children in Kolkata appalling. If something is not done immediately they will become a tribe of lost children. Last year at the official function, the governor had put the number of street children at 200,000.
How much funds have you raised for the street children of Kolkata?
In the last four and a half years we have raised around four and half million euros and it has been used for the cause of street children in Kolkata.
