Case History
Sam is around 5 years old. He had a very disturbed childhood. His mother had two marriages. He was born from the second marriage. His mother died from burns that she suffered from a fire allegedly set by his father when he was 3 years old. His father subsequently deserted the family. Two of his maternal uncles were also murdered due to political rivalry. Due to these deaths, one after the other Sam went through a lot of turmoil. He was staying with his maternal grandmother and cousin sister who incidentally sells illicit liquor. Sam came to our home in January 2006. He was initially very withdrawn but with care and compassion, he slowly settled down. With counseling, care and regular tutoring he improved in all areas. He is bright in studies and was able to pass the admission test in the English medium school, which he is attending. Sam looks forward to a bright and happy future. |
