Case History
Asha lived with her mother, a brother and a sister. They had no house, but lived on the pavement. Asha's father left them when she was two years old. He was a sweeper. After that her mother remarried. Her second husband was a beggar. He also left them but he had a two year old son, and a daughter of five years old. Presently, Asha's mother is pregnant. When she was three month's pregnant her husband left her. Now, begging is their only source of income.
Asha had a maternal grandmother, who loved her very much. She has three maternal uncles. Out of the three, two of them do not want to keep any relationship with her mother but her younger uncle loves her and takes care of them. Asha is now a seven year old girl. She lives in Hope Home and loves being there. She dislikes living on the pavement and begging.
She is very social, friendly and co-operative by nature. She also loves to chat. She wants to study. When she came here she did not know how to read or write. Now she is studying in English medium school in Class 1. She appears to be intelligent. At Hope Home she is very happy.
